A Snapshot From / Sydney

At Sunset

I sat with the soothing waters of Sydney Cove to my left, at a table with a pretty great view, ready to enjoy my dinner of choice, snacks and shiraz.

To my left, another lovely view:

It didn’t take long for the sky to darken, and thankfully I turned all the way around, because I didn’t realize that this was happening behind me:

What an incredible way to enjoy the mild Sydney winter evening.

If you find yourself in Sydney at sunset, you will want to catch Badu Gili (“water light”) — the amazing light show on the sails of the Opera House. It’s free, lasts just about five minutes, and is well worth it. It runs nightly at sunset and 7 pm. More information here.
