Inspired by this post about starting a journal among siblings and this Christmas gift from my mom…
…I wrote this quick note to daughter on the first page of the journal:
“Dear Daughter,
I love you and I love journals and I love to write. You love me 🙂 and journals and writing too, so how about if we make this our journal?”
Then I placed it on her pillow, where it waited patiently to be found.
Sooner than expected, the journal was back on the kitchen counter, with a special bookmark.
I opened it as instructed, and found:
Which certainly put a smile on my face. (I didn’t realize I had a crazy face — lol).
What do the rest of the pages of this thick and inviting book hold for us? Significance? Nonsense? Worries? Inspiration? I’m not certain, but I’m looking forward to finding out.

What a lovely way for you to connect with your daughter! Whatever the two of you decide to share in it, it will be a source of love and inspiration for both, I am sure.
